Bio Diesel
Biodiesel is a renewable fuel for diesel engines comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils, designated B100, and meeting the standards set up by the respective countries. Biodiesel is usually produced by reaction of a vegetable oil with an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol in the presence of a catalyst to yield mono-alkyl esters and glycerin, which is removed.
Biodiesel helps in reduction of greenhouse gas & other air polluting particulate materials. With the use of biodiesel, no net carbon is generated. It also helps in producingapproximately 70% less carbon dioxide emissions, and almost 100% less Sulphur dioxide. It does not require any change in the existing infrastructure, it is capable of being distributed with existing filling stations without any additional costs.
